Competition in online business is fierce

 
This is one of the reasons that online business cannot be successful without building a Prospect List.

 

The Statistics will drive one crazy if they take the challenge to play in the arena of Page Rank. They will not succeed without a Prospect List to assist them in driving traffic to their websites.  The average online business person quite often had no previous experience when they were exposed to online business opportunities.  There are no statistics of how many people have been burned out emotionally and financially chasing these mirages.

 

Part of the reason for the huge failure of online business was that these people were pioneers in a brand new industry and the rules for online business are somewhat different to what is used for business in the real world.

 

Does this scare you?

 

I hope not, Online business is the modern day gauntlet for seeking success; however you must be made aware this is not a field to be taken lightly.  It is not the way it is sometimes presented.  20 minutes a day will get you no where.    If you are going to start or become part of an online business and you are paying all the bills, you need at least 20 hours a week to get everything done, tending to your Prospect List is part of that time.

If you take your time and learn what you have to do as you are growing into your business you will be obtaining referrals or Prospect/Customers for your Prospect List which has to be tended like a garden. 

 

If you are successful with your Prospect List by maintaining the interest of the people you attract in joining your List as time goes by you will find that your sales will increase with less effort.  This is because the people on your Prospect List have grown to trust you, have esteem for your judgment for what you share with them and you are readily available if they need you.  Now that is a tall order.

 

So where does the competition come in?

 

Generic traffic from search engines is what everyone is clambering for.  There are millions of websites created now.  This number is only determined for the surface searches.  There is a whack more websites found using deep searches.  Those are websites that are not posted to the internet or you can say they are private.  Companies, organizations, governments or civil entities own and run those, plus some personal websites where the owner does not realize he should post his website.  However, all of those people also use the Search Engines to find information.  These people are the market generated by generic searches and are what will make your online business run if you are organized and focus on building your Prospect List. 

 

Building a Prospect List is really super-size Public Relations effort which you need to do for a successful online business.
